One topic that consistently occurs at my work: How much our experience and well-being are reactions to the 'Zeitgeist' / the general mood & atmosphere we are surrounded with. For example the expectation that every single individual 'takes responsibility', is 'his/her own manager', how social media shapes our view of others and ourselves etc.. This pulls us in and at the same time makes us revolt. Usually we see that we are revolting against certain attitudes, events and people. But we don't see how those demands to be in a certain way (effective, positive, successful, smart, good looking) are INSIDE of us. We're not really struggling with the outside - we struggle with parts of ourselves that we never took in voluntarily.
